Glossary
This glossary defines every term used in oneGRID and in this manual. Terms are listed alphabetically.
Container A movable carrier (for example a bin or box) that holds items. When container tracking is enabled, oneGRID records which items and work orders belong to each container and where it is located.
Device A piece of CAPTRON hardware registered in oneGRID that drives the LED strips and sensor buttons of a storage. Devices are monitored on the IoT Dashboard.
ISAC CAPTRON's navigation system that guides an operator through the warehouse with on-screen directions. An ISAC cart is used to pick several work orders in one run.
ISAC code A code reserved for your organization that is paired with a storage location so ISAC navigation can guide operators to it.
Item A product or article managed in oneGRID, identified by its item number. Items are what you pick, place, and count.
LED strip A strip of lights mounted on a rack that highlights locations during picking, placing, and sorting. LED strips belong to a device and are divided into segments.
Location A single position in a storage where items or containers are stored — for example one compartment of a shelf. LED guidance points to locations during picking and placing.
Lot number An identifier of a production batch. When lot number tracking is enabled, picking list positions carry a lot number.
Manual Sorting The oneGRID function for sorting mixed items into guided locations on a shelving storage, scanning each item one by one to get its destination.
Permission A right assigned to a user account that controls which features and storages the user can access. Permissions are managed by administrators, individually or through presets.
PickCart A mobile cart with guided locations, used to pick several work orders in one run through the warehouse.
Picker The oneGRID function for processing a single work order with light-guided shelf picking.
Picking list The list of positions of a work order: which items are requested in which amounts.
Preset A reusable bundle of device settings that can be applied to several devices to configure them consistently.
Process type A category assigned to work orders. Operators can filter by process type to work only on certain kinds of orders.
Put Wall A wall of guided locations used to sort picked items into their work orders. Each location collects the items of one order.
Rack A row of shelves in a storage. Racks carry the LED strips and sensor buttons that guide operators.
Sensor button A touch-free button mounted at a location or rack. Operators can confirm picks and placements by pressing it.
Shelf One level of a rack. A shelf contains one or more locations.
Storage Any storage unit managed by oneGRID — a shelving storage, a PickCart, a Put Wall, an ISAC storage, or an externally managed shelving. A storage contains racks, shelves, and locations.
Work order An order to pick a set of items in given amounts. Work orders are created in oneGRID, imported from files, or transferred from a connected external system, and are processed by operators.
Work order template A reusable definition of a work order — its number prefix, work order type, and picking list. Operators start or attach new work orders directly from a template.
