Storage settings

This page describes the settings of a single storage and what each setting does. Changing them requires the Management permission. Which settings are available depends on the storage type.

warning

Storage settings change how operators confirm their work. Align changes with the team before applying them during a shift.

Where to find it

  1. Open Management > Storages and open the storage.

Scanning confirmation policies

The confirmation policies of a storage are grouped under the heading Scanning confirmation policies. Each policy is a group of single-click buttons — the selected option is highlighted, and a legend explains when each option is recommended:

  • Location — recommended when a location stores one container with a single item type.
  • Container — recommended when a location stores multiple containers, each with a single item type.
  • Item — recommended when confirmation should be done by scanning the item itself (cart storages only).
  • UI button — confirms through the user interface, without scanning.

Based on the selected option, oneGRID displays warnings and recommendations when an action would interfere with it; operators can make exceptions and discard recommendations. If the recommendations are not followed, oneGRID requires additional scanning where necessary to track stock amounts correctly.

Two options come with restrictions:

  • Container can only be selected when container tracking is enabled in the general settings — otherwise the button is disabled.
  • UI button shows a warning when selected for picking or unloading: confirming without scanning does not verify the items, which matters when many different items are stored on a single location.
