Place items and containers
This workflow shows you how to store items or containers into locations of a storage. Use it for incoming goods or whenever stock needs to be put away.
Role: Operator
Prerequisites
- Placing containers requires container tracking to be enabled — see General settings.
- The item or container is known to oneGRID — see Manage items. When no external system is connected, an unknown item can also be created during placing.
Steps
Place an item
- On the Main Menu, click Place and choose Item. You can also use Place Item in the three-dots menu of the top bar.
- If oneGRID asks for it, select the storage.
- Scan the item, or enter its item number, and set the amount. When lot number tracking is enabled, you can also enter or scan the Lot number of the stock.
- If the item does not exist in oneGRID yet and no external system is connected, the Create new item? dialog opens. Click Create to create the item and continue placing.
- Place the item into the location indicated by the LED guidance and confirm the placement according to the storage settings.
Place a container
- On the Main Menu, click Place and choose Container. You can also use Place container in the three-dots menu.
- Scan the container.
- Place the container into the indicated location and confirm the placement.
Result
The stock of the item, or the container, is recorded on the target location and appears in Inventory Management.
